DESCRIPTION:
Thomas & Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn., 30 hour time and strike wood movement tall clock, c1811
CONDITION:
Refinished pine case in clean condition. The nicely designed hood is not original to the rest of the case and may have been fabricated to replace a damaged or missing hood. The painted dial has suffered a break at the bottom left corner and needs some attention. The dial has several stress cracks to the paint probably caused by expansion and contraction over the years from humidity. The overall discolored look of the dial may have been caused by someone applying a layer of shellac to protect the paint. In restoring the movement someone has replaced the original wood bushings with plastic. The bell stand and bell are a later restoration. Complete with pendulum and weights. Ht 85".
